Last updated: January 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how StatMatch (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses,
stores, and shares information when you use our website and related services (the “Service”).
1) Key Summary
- StatMatch displays sports content and may display public YouTube video metadata (title, thumbnail, channel name, publish date) using the YouTube Data API.
- We do not require users to log in with Google to use StatMatch.
- We do not sell your personal information.
2) YouTube API Services Disclosure
StatMatch uses the YouTube Data API to retrieve and display information about YouTube content
such as video titles, thumbnails, channel information, and publish dates. This information is used to help users
discover relevant public videos.
By using StatMatch, you also agree to be bound by the
YouTube Terms of Service.
3) What Information We Collect
A) Information you provide
- Contact messages: If you email us, we receive the information you include (such as your email address and message contents).
B) Information collected automatically
- Basic technical data: IP address, browser type, device type, pages viewed, and approximate location (city/region) may be logged by our hosting or analytics tools for security and performance.
- Cookies / local storage: We may use cookies or browser storage (e.g.,
localStorage) to remember preferences (like filters) and improve performance.
C) YouTube data
- We may retrieve publicly available YouTube metadata via the YouTube Data API (e.g., video title, thumbnail, channel name, publish date, and video ID).
- We do not access private YouTube account data unless you explicitly authorize it via Google OAuth (currently not required for normal StatMatch usage).
4) How We Use Information
- To operate and maintain the Service (load pages, fetch and display content).
- To improve performance and user experience (caching, error monitoring, and feature updates).
- To secure the Service and prevent abuse (rate limiting, logging, fraud prevention).
- To respond to user support requests.
5) How We Store & Retain Data
StatMatch may cache certain results (including YouTube video metadata) to improve speed and reduce repeated API calls.
Cached data may be stored temporarily in server-side JSON files, in-memory caches, or similar storage.
Typical retention: We generally refresh/cycle cached YouTube metadata frequently (e.g., daily) and do not retain it longer than necessary for performance.
We may retain technical logs for a limited period for security and debugging.
6) Sharing of Information
We may share information in the following limited cases:
- Service providers: Hosting/CDN providers, analytics, or security services that help operate StatMatch.
- Legal requirements: If required by law, court order, or to protect rights and safety.
We do not sell personal information.
